Post-Election Round Up

November 6th, 2008 . by Cary

Oddly enough, the sun came up again today, disproving several doom-sayers with their predictions of the election outcome.

In case you were wondering, here were my predictions (better late than never, eh?):

1. The Bible will still have all the answers.
2. Prayer will still work.
3. The Holy Spirit will still move.
4. God will still inhabit the praises of His people.
5. There will still be God-anointed preaching.
6. There will still be singing of praise to God.
7. God will still pour out blessings upon His people.
8. There will still be room at the Cross.
9. Jesus will still love you.
10. Jesus will still save the lost.

So, I think I’m in pretty good shape, overall. Let’s get to the Round Up, shall we?

Stop over at CPT Rob Yllescas and catch up on his condition. CPT Yllescas is the victim of an IED in Afghanistan and is currently stateside receiving the best care possible. Leave a note of encouragement for his wife, Dena.

Thursday Round Up

October 30th, 2008 . by Cary

This week, I’m going to see if I can group like subjects together. Since I haven’t surfed before I started writing these, there’s no telling where this will lead… and no, Blogrolling still isn’t working right.

Just Vote!
ablur has a hard question for you.

Don’t Vote For Obama:
American Apologist has a top-ten list.
Improvement vs. Change on Gawfer.
Cube has a new Flag for the Obama campaign on the BLOG.
The LA Times brags it has a video, then won’t share it? Join Cyber Pastor as he asks them to open their vault.
Photographic proof that a certain camp was hoping wouldn’t be found on Gateway Pundit.
Under the sub-category of “How To Lessen the Impact” comes this sage advice to business owners from Ol’ Broad.
Best reason ever, on Amazed In His Presence.
Be afraid – be very afraid! Sure wish ALL the candidates had the money for the media coverage that Obama is getting. Besides this piece on American and Proud, if you have Dish Network check out channel 73 (for the last month)!
Jenn joins the call for the tape to be released.
Wealth Redistribution explained … on Bloviating Zeppelin.
Political Pistachio explains why Obama’s plan of wealth redistribution won’t work.
The Tanker of Love has a video up from the guy that a lot of conservatives think should have kept running.
Under the sub-category of “Nothing New Under The Sun” comes this video courtesy of Pitchpull.
Amboy Times adds to the arsenal of “Nobama ’08!”
Showing that the MSM is, indeed, “in the tank” for Obama is this lovely piece from Third Wave Dave.
His pictures are worth more than a thousand words. mdconservative® – from the Conservative Intelligence Report.
The ARRA News Service reports the arrest of some get-out-the-vote fraudsters.

Bush Derangement Syndrome (or, Hate Kills):
cookiecrumbexpress has news about a HuffPo “reporter” and what constant hate-mongering can do to a person.

Military Precision:
Blackfive has a gorgeous sunrise picture filled with … aw, why spoil the surprise?
Chief Roland always has great pics of the military, and he’s not even biased towards any one branch.
This Marine epitomizes the “tough get going” part of the saying. Thanks to Samantha for sharing.
I can always count on the Loon for some Positive News.
Kathi has the Wednesday Hero up – well worth the time to stop and read!

No, We Didn’t Make This Up:
Small Chest ban on Vietnamese roads? Check it out on Old Soldier.
New Guidelines for an Old Problem on Texas Fred’s.
Autorotate’s Flying Circus shares some of Mutha’s – uhm, Murtha’s latest.

It Couldn’t Happen To A Nicer Guy (no, not another Obama category):
Seems Charming, Just Charming‘s GuyK was awarded a Superior Scribbler and has passed it all on to his links.

Doesn’t Fit Anywhere Else:
Richard has some good closeups of the loons on his lake, and then apologizes for the pictures being fuzzy. I must be losing focus, because they didn’t look fuzzy to me…
Unalaska Steve has his pumpkin carved.
Mary gives us the low-down on Scott Higginbotham, an author worth finding on the shelves…
Andrew Tallman has a Thought Of The Day about just where exactly to place your trust during this election cycle.
Have you been missing you fix of Dumb Looks? There’s a reason for it…
Amboy Times remembers 70 years ago today…
Good Ol’ Bill pimps for his Afterburner series. I cannot stress how worth your time this series is.
Mmmmm … tortillas!

Stopped Cold:
RattlerGator mourns the loss of Dean “Chowdah” Barnett.

Thursday Round Up

October 23rd, 2008 . by Cary

MEG update: Her temperature has been under 101.5 since Tuesday afternoon. She is on a new (meaning different), stronger antibiotic that is knocking down her double ear infection. She needs lots of hugs and love, so we’re kinda busy in that department.

Blogrolling appears to still be on the fritz, so it may be slow going for the round up.

Gawfer is helping to spread the word about the extreme left’s attack on Congresswoman Michele Bachmann after her visit to MSNBC’s Hardball on Friday night produced some of the most twisted and out-of-context sound bites ever.

ACORN has issues – and they are showing up in Clark County, Nevada, according to an article on cookiecrumbexpress.

Cube has found what could possibly be the last honest Democrat. (link in article is slow – be patient – keep trying)

Cyber Pastor has a fine table posted, comparing the two main-party candidates for POTUS on his blog, Do The Right Thing.

The historic French footage of John McCain as POW in an interview is posted on Blackfive. If you have translation abilities, could you please help me work through the overdub? My hearing is weird, and while I can pick out occasional words from McCain and the interviewer, the louder overdub overwhelms my auditory input.

Gateway Pundit makes note of how quickly Palin rallies fill up in comparison with (and direct contrast to) the weeks of work required to get people to attend an Obama gathering. Plus, no opening act for Sarah…

Old Soldier has the Wednesday Hero posted. Look further down for another hero – one with more than one hundred medals.

Ol’ Broad is having computer issues. Many are helpful, some are entertained.

GuyK is having a slow start this morning. I love the older folk on computers. They are so darned entertaining.

Brother Johnny introduces the “Wizard of OZ” defense for the Obamanation on Amazed In His Presence.

Shhh – there’s a Goldfinch at the feeder… on Richard’s At The Water.

RattlerGator whets our appetite for upcoming specials and points out some nice tidbits.

Bushwack reminds us of what a REAL leader looks like and talks like on American and Proud.

The Chief has a picture of Obamarx. Also a reminder: 25 years ago today, the Marine Barracks at Beirut was attacked. 241 Americans were killed that day. (side note – part two of “Lessons From Beirut” tomorrow morning, 0700 MST, at The O Word)

Alaska Steve passes on word about the Katmai, and shares his hike to Ugadaga Bay on A Sense of Place.

Talk about something that should be shared with the whole country – The Bull has that in spades.

Some humor from the Grumpy Old Attitudinal Texan, Fred. (heh heh!)

There is talk of a “righteous wind” over in the Jungle.

Bloviating Zeppelin points out that even if Obama would meet with certain countries without preconditions, those countries have preconditions for US.

Mary’s World recently cleared the 8700 mark with readers. For a small blogger, that a lot. Congratulations, Mary. Keep up the good work!

There’s talk of a party over at Andrew’s Place.

A funny thing happened to some global warming activists on their bike ride… see the details on Pitchpull.

Nice video on Autorotate’s Flying Circus with John Mutha – I mean, Murtha – dodging questions about Haditha accusations.

Visit Amboy Times and get a taste of the Enigma Called Barack.

Samantha has a series about Beirut. Thank you, Samantha – I knew I could count on you to remember.

And you, too, Loon.

And mdconservative on the Conservative Intelligence Report. Ooh rah, Semper Fi.

Kathi has Wednesday’s Hero, also, on Mail Call! Supporting The Troops.

That’s it for now – MEG’s waking up, and she needs her Daddy.

Thank you for stopping by, In GOD We Trust, God bless you all, listen to The O Word on BlogTalkRadio, Wear Red on Fridays, and support Warriors for Innocence!

Thursday Round Up

October 16th, 2008 . by Cary

Sorry for the late start – MEG had a doctor’s appointment.

Let’s get right to it, shall we? And, since blogrolling.com seems to be having trouble (again!) I’m really glad I have my sidebar list – although it doesn’t tell me who’s got new entries, so we’ll just go right on through it! In all fairness, if the blog entry is more than three days old, I won’t mention it…

First stop is A Sense of Place. Always nice to see Steve’s pictures – whether from the back of a bike or out the front of his house. I am still jealous of his view.

A couple of good articles to read prior to the casting of your ballot on Amazed In His Presence.

Amboy Times has a nice piece (part of a blogburst) regarding the Obamanation’s so-called “economic” plan.

Go on over to American And Proud and ask Bush where he stands on the issue of Murtha. I dare you. I double dare you.

Ol’ Broad has a nice collection of Obama pictures for your edification…

Richard has a word about the current Wall Street feelings, and just to ease your fears, a few pictures of early-feeding ducks on his lake, over on At The Water.

Blackfive is – well, Blackfive. Go. Now.

Bloviating Zeppelin has a nice little article (it ties in with Texas Fred’s. below…) about protection and safety.

You can find a review of last night’s debate on Bottom Line Up Front.

GuyK has a word of sit and wisdom over at Charming, Just Charming.

mdconservative has a nice looking piece of legal paper that should be resolved before the election is allowed to continue…

cookiecrumbexpress has a reminder for those who would push “tommy” to the back under the Obamanation.

More required reading about the Obamanation can be found on Do The Right Thing.

Still think that all the hulabaloo about ACORN and voter fraud is overblown, and not to be worried about? Then you haven’t been over to Dumb Looks Still Free with his expansion on the theme…

Gateway Pundit is chuckling a bit about the Dems’ view of a flyer calling for foreign policy accountability.

Gawfe has a nice, concise, two-point recap of the debate on his site at Gawfer.

Now, I’m not nearly finished here, but life keeps getting in the way of my commentary. I will be back later with the rest of my round-up.

2241 hours: that’s quite an interruption. It is also, apparently, enough time for blogrolling to come up for a bit.

Check out both sides of the story (Moose Mints, anyone?) at the BLOG.

What could the FBI want with Mahoney? Gateway Pundit knows…

Old Soldier shows his admiration for Sarah Palin with news of a siting at Wal-Mart.

RattlerGator has a new favorite country song.

The Chief has a nice photo on The Roland Blog.

Best wishes to Nancy Reagan from The Bull.

Another one bites the dust – Texas Fred fills us in on another loser in the Castle Doctrine war.

Jenn has a little bit on the fake “kill him” remark reported by the Scranton Times and not yet retracted by anyone who has credited the Times with the first report…like ABC… or Olbermann…

Political Pistachio wants to know why Obama will give an employer a $3000 tax credit for hiring a new employee…

Another quick review by Mary, this one from the wife of Lakewood’s Joel Osteen.

Andrew Tallman has a “happy” thought!

Quick hita all around from LimaLimaMikeFoxtrot. (Good to see you active again, Mac and wife!)

The audio clip on Pitchpull should be enough to make you go out and shake your head in sadness at all the Democrats out there who don’t pay attention to what is being said…

The American Apologist (welcome to the round-up!) is admittedly behind the curve, but would like to know why the Obamanation doesn’t just pony up the documents. Personally, I think it’s because the ink ain’t dry yet…

Oliver Stone has not learned Rule Number One yet – do not piss off the Redhead.

ablur wants to know if the Omabanation is eligible, too.

Help Kathi spread the word about writing to our soldiers. Details are on her site (new location!), Mail Call!.

I’m going to finish off this round up with the positive news from my favorite Canadian – The Loon shares news from Iraq.

Thank you for stopping by, In GOD We Trust, God bless you all, listen to The O Word on BlogTalkRadio, Wear Red on Fridays, and support Warriors for Innocence!

Thursday Round Up

August 28th, 2008 . by Cary

I’m going to try something a bit different today – I will be publishing as I go along, since I visit the sites I am writing about and in the past I have had site owners reciprocate the visit before I had posted the round up. So – check back often this entry is going to grow as time goes on!

First off, I want to welcome a few new members to my blogroll. First is Autorotate’s Flying Circus. In spite of having a big ol’ picture of Blackhawks at the top of his blog, it’s more of a conservative blog than a flying blog; Texas Fred pointed me to Autorotate and I would like to thank Fred for that. I gave you a brief glimpse of Autorotate yesterday, today you should go over there and explore his whole site. Today he has a post up about the left’s desperation to make McCain look bad, since they can’t seem to make Obama look good.

Second up is the blog of Cyber Pastor Ed Boston and his crew, Do The Right Thing. Along with his crew of top rate writers (including his wife, Mrs. CP) it is another stop on my trail of keeping the True Hope alive. Today the Pastor is sharing an e-mail exchange regarding the BTR Moving Right convention.

Third (and I am remiss in that he’s been here for a while, and I forgot to mention him earlier…) is mdconservative, who is large and in charge over on Conservative Intelligence Report. My apologies for missing him! Talk about a good strong writer and thinker – go see for yourself!

On with the listing:

Dumb Looks Still Free is talking about the Greatest Moral Failure. By the way, DLSF wants you to vote Cthulhu in 2008 – why choose a lesser evil?

Richard At The Water has a nice picture up of some very serene folks at the end of the dock. Bonus time! First one to leave the correct answer in the comments wins a complete set of “The O Word” broadcasts, contained in a nifty and convenient spot on the web: What is the name of Richard’s first great-grandson?

GuyK is in fine spirits over at Charming, Just Charming.

Akinoluna has a funny one and a serious one. The serious one may show up as a topic tomorrow.

Third Wave Dave has a word about “The Obama Delusion” – good read!

RattlerGator didn’t watch Day 3 of the DNC (do not call?) but has an insightful rundown of Hillary’s speech on Day 2.

Blackfive – starts with a Message of Hope and moves out from there. Always something of interest and a good read. If you like your politics a little on the over-easy side, skip this link.

Doug at Political Pistachio has another review of DNC Day 2. No love lost there for the Clintons, let me tell ya…

Samantha over at Samantha Speaks has a good piece up entitled “Participating In Governement” – can’t give you details, that would ruin another entry here…

RegularRon has some fine words for Denver’s “finest” on The Old Right Daily.

For a brief (but much needed) break from things political, stop by and say “Hi!” to Steve (the lucky stiff who lives in some of the greatest landscape in the world) over at A sense of Place. Take all the time you need there, it’s very relaxing…

A good thought of the day over at Andrew Tallman.

Texas Fred (mentioned above) lets us know about the preparations of a certain low-lying city in the face of yet another (gasp! shock!) hurricane that is capable of swamping them.

At Mary’s World there is a review of Martha and Mary – go, check it out!

Jenn over at The Jungle is having a great time with her resident troll. Come to think of it, we all are. Don’t miss the visit from the Euro-weenie preaching on how to run a country…

And now, for the reason I didn’t tell you what was on Samantha’s site: Gawfer has a petition up that starts a discussion on a national primary – wouldn’t you on the tail end of the country’s primary rotation loved to have had the chance to tell Fred Thompson that you believed in him?

Carried By Christ has a word on Success.

Oddly enough, a founding member of CAIR calls Michelle Malkin an “enemy of the people.” Details on Amboy Times.

Old Soldier has some pictures up from the Olympics, taken by a guy he works with.

cube has an exclusive preview picture of The Obama’s stage for tonight’s speech on the BLOG.

Amazed In His Presence is another in my stops along the path to bettering myself. Today Johnny has a word about Thoughts and Thinking.

cookiecrumbexpress has some figures on democrat voting trends.

Scott, while looking forward to moving to his new calling in a new church, has a quick and easy-to-understand study on how Jesus is viewed by two of his apostles, on Our Sovereign Joy.

By looking at the MSM (DEM, according to BZ) you would think nothing but the DNC is going on right now. Join the discussion on Bloviating Zeppelin.

Mail Call! celebrates two years of Wednesday Hero postings.

For a fine example of patriotism, visit the lake at One Loon’s Tales. More love for America there than any five members of the deomocRATic party…

prying1 has a piece up on Rhymes of the Lost battalion – quite interesting, and worth the time to download.

Now, don’t get me wrong – I am sure there are plenty more good reads on the old blogroll – but if they don’t update, I don’t mention them in the (somewhat) weekly round up. If you are on the list of those who did not get mentioned, I am sorry, but time constraints keep me to mentioning only those what have the “New Entry” next to the blog name. I really do visit and read the updated ones, I have a lot of blogs listed that aren’t as active and I delete the ones that fall by the wayside. Economics of time and space, you know.

For those of you kind enough to share your thoughts, thank you for your concern about Logan. He will be missed.

Thank you for stopping by, In GOD We Trust, God bless you all, listen to The O Word on BlogTalkRadio, Wear Red on Fridays, and support Warriors for Innocence!
