Harold Shelton

December 4th, 2014 . by Cary

Long-time readers of this little corner of the Blog World may recall that I had adopted Harold and Anne Shelton as my second parents and they were MEG’s “grandparents” on my side. After Anne passed a few years ago, Harold moved out of their house. He moved in with his son in Wickenburg, until he had a stroke. From the hospital he moved into a care facility; he ended up moving to Colorado Springs so his daughter could keep a closer eye on him. I was fortunate to be able to visit him there Labor Day weekend 2013. Harold was the founder and creator of the Black Canyon Railroad (click the tab in the headers for pictures).

Word has come to me this morning that Harold suffered another massive stroke Tuesday morning. He fell into a coma, and the doctors have indicated that they expect him to live only 48 to 72 hours more. Of course, they don’t know the God we serve. Harold is a devout believer and follower of Christ. If God chooses to heal him, He will. If not, then Harold will sleep until the return of Jesus. Either way, praise God for a life well lived.

He will be missed.

Chat ya later…
