Thursday Roundup

January 3rd, 2008 . by Cary

Wandering around the web today – we find Guy K recovering from tooth extraction and reminiscing about his travels on Charming, Just Charming. Greybeard offers a suggestion for information from Iraq, and an insight into the cosmetic aspect of the next four years in D.C. Paul over at Prying 1 cleaned out his fireplace. With a Shop-Vac. There is a possibility there was no filter involved…

Texas Fred, over in his corner of the web, Ace in the Hole, ponders with shock and dismay as New Orleans records very high crime rates for 2007. No, really – he is shocked, and dismayed.

Ed Dickson over at Fraud, Phishing, and Financial Misdeeds has a review of what the IT crew found to be important issues last year, and a brief commentary on Lou Dobbs’ opinion of Hillary. Meanwhile, Jenn of the Jungle opens a can regarding the Iowa Primaries, and covers the importance of lawyers on No PC BS. Akinoluna carries on the theme of reviews. Stu covers the Libs’ need for confessions on Seaspook’s Rants. Doug over at Political Pistachio opines on the Republicans, or what are passing as Republicans, in the Iowa Primaries.

Bloviating Zeppelin has a strong message of appreciation for all service members, and pulls a post from Just John which perfectly illustrates the lengths to which one man will go for another. Thanks for the reminder, BZ. Thank you for your service, John.

Over at Our Sovereign Joy, Scott helps us make sense of the question, “What does it all mean?” Kasee helps us remember our Wednesday Hero over at Mail Call! Supporting the Troops. The Old Ranter is recovering from his episode with the medical community – thankfully the grief community didn’t have any dealings with him…

You want RAW truth? For those of you with strong stomaches, head over to Long Live the Republic and let Gunz point out some fun facts for you. For the very strong of mind, and Marine at heart, scroll down to Santa Boot Camp… Head over to One Loon’s Tale, settle in on the Lake, and browse the countryside for true appreciation of the Armed Forces. Bushwack closed his year out with a video of southern entertainment over at American and Proud. Sugarcat shares some holiday pictures, and feelings, on her blog.

Be sure to check out the others on my read list – some aren’t as active, and sometimes blogrolling doesn’t always update the rolls, but there is always something interesting to read.

Stole this from Greybeard. Suggest you do the same.

Private note to those who have served – with, before, or since – me: Thank you.

Thursday’s Ramblings

December 13th, 2007 . by Cary

Still working on a special “Christmas in Arizona” post for my friend, Loon. What rhymes with sunshine?

Looks like another gray day here in the Valley of the Sun. Weather has been weird, much cooler than normal and pretty wet for this time of year. I’m not complaining, since we had a bit of a dry year, but the cold is aching in my bones. Must be all that Global Warming AlGore keeps talking about. Doug has lots of info on that.

Some people should just stay in bed to begin with. Pop a happy pill, Guy. At least you woke up on the green side of the grass.

If you are stumped for a gift for that special someone, try this over at Our Sovereign Joy. Books are always a good choice. I think OSJ got our weather, too.

If you are in a giving mood, Nancy Pelosi always likes flowers. Don’t believe me? Just ask Jenn.

That appears to be the latest updates, as of this morning. I’m sorry if I missed your latest witty entries; I will try to do better next time.

Thank you for stopping by, God bless you all, Wear Red on Fridays, and support Warriors for Innocence!
