Well, it’s been a month since I last posted. Today’s date is one of those neat numbers I like. Let’s check in with the Founders, shall we?

“The time to guard against corruption and tyranny, is before they shall have gotten hold on us. It is better to keep the wolf out of the fold, than to trust to drawing his teeth and talons after he shall have entered.”

Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia, Query 13, 1781

It would seem that tyranny has gotten a hold of us. Although, he certainly puts on a good show of honoring America, doesn’t he? I have mixed feelings about him being on The Hallowed Ground. Yes, his position entitles him to participation in the cermony, but his actions since he took office have certainly not been in the best interest of the United States, have they?

Keep your powder dry, America. The time is drawing nigh.

Application to Represent Me

October 12th, 2013 . by Cary

Thank you for showing interest in being my representative in government. Please answer the following questions. If you pass, you will know because I will have voted for you in the next election.

1. The United States is what kind of government?

(note – this is a trick question, apparently – let’s look at some perceived answers, shall we?)

From pResident Barack Obama: WASHINGTON, Oct. 12 (UPI) — U.S. President Barack Obama said the politics involved in the government shutdown and the debt ceiling “isn’t how our democracy works, and we have to stop it.” Source: Obama: Shutdown politics ‘isn’t how our democracy works’

From Representative Matt Salmon (R, AZ): “Our democracy has not always operated smoothly. Our Founding Fathers had fierce debates in Independence Hall before negotiating what would become the Constitution.” Source: Dear Mr. President: This shutdown isn’t a game

What I don’t understand is how these people can become some of the highest level “representatives” and not know this basic information.

Kinda sad, actually …

Re-elect None Of Them

Time to clean house, eh?

“The natural cure for an ill-administration, in a popular or representative constitution, is a change of men.”

The Price Was Paid

September 26th, 2013 . by Cary

“What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value.”

–Thomas Paine, The American Crisis, No. 1, 1776

Founder’s Quote Daily

People ask me why I am so adamant about the Rights and Responsibilities of the citizens of this country. They ask why I am so fired up, after all, the government is going to take care of everything, right?

It’s because while I served, I didn’t pay the ultimate price – but I know plenty who did. Who still are willing. Who have, recently.

And, frankly, it pisses me off that MORE citizens aren’t upset that the government (I don’t care which administration, they are all doing the same thing now) is acting like they don’t have to answer to We, the People anymore. It pisses me off that it appears that so many “citizens” of this country aren’t taking the ultimate payment for freedom seriously – in fact, they seem to take it for granted.

I know too many who have paid dearly for me to live freely to take their payment for granted or lightly. It’s the least I can do – keeping their payment in the forefront of my mind.

Sunday Afternoon Patriotism

September 22nd, 2013 . by Cary

How strong should the government be? IT has been said that a government big enough to take care of your every need is strong enough to take away everything you have.

“[T]he government must be a weak one indeed, if it should forget that the good of the whole can only be promoted by advancing the good of each of the parts or members which compose the whole.”

–John Jay, Federalist No. 64, 1788

Founder’s Quote Daily

Seems to me the government think it’s already strong enough to start taking away that which it does not have the authority to give in the first place.

“It is very imprudent to deprive America of any of her privileges. If her commerce and friendship are of any importance to you, they are to be had on no other terms than leaving her in the full enjoyment of her rights.”

–Benjamin Franklin, Political Observations

Founder’s Quote Daily

Remember that our rights are given by God, not granted by any body of men. In spite of what the anti-theists will have you believe, this country WAS founded by men who knew that their blessing were bestowed by God. The COnstitution and the Declaration of Independence both mention this fact very plainly, while also restricting the governmental form being founded from forcing or restricting any religious teaching. If the founders had fully understood, as we are coming to understand today, that islam is not a religion but a quasi-governmental form in and of itself, they would have put a restriction on it – or would they? Why doesn’t the government now in place outlaw the set of laws (sharia) that rule islam? For fear of restricting a religion? But, if there are laws that control you away from your worship, is it really a religion, or is it a government? I’m pretty sure it’s a government, with it’s own courts and codes. It cannot co-exist with an established representative republic, without one being pushed out by the other.

Biggest problem I see here is that the American People are too polite to push back. Let’s see what happens if/when an islamic no-go zone is introduced in an American city.
