I guess I should have seen it coming. I put out two pieces of furniture, a small bench and a sofa corner unit, on the curb. Put a sign on the corner unit – “Free to a Good Home” – and someone gave the bench a good home.

It’s quiet today.

Too quiet …

Actually, that’s my life for now. The Ear Nose Throat specialists, when told that I could not hear anything, decided that an audiologist would run a comparative test on me, using my February visit as the baseline.

The audiologist was very snippy when, after being told by TMBWitW that I couldn’t hear anything, I was not responding to the testing. The only thing that happened was 1) I felt a slight vibration while she was testing the bone transmission, and 2) I saw her frantically waving to get my attention so I could try to read her (very fast and compressed) lips through the observation window. Tough to do, but I figured out she was asking if I heard anything. I shook my head “no” and wondered if I could get my co-pay back, since so far I already knew everything they were telling me.

I don’t think she was in a good mood.

The PA, Lori, was concerned about the rapid change. Once she heard how and when, and the physical aspects (I was in extreme pain when it happened, it felt like someone was sticking long toothpicks into my ears) she made a call of “osteosclerosis” – I think. It took a couple tries to read that on her lips, and she finally pointed it out on a page. Wait – that’s not right. Otosclerosis? Hmmm … any way, it’s a problem in the ear bones (those three little dudes behind the ear drum) and she prescribed prednisone (of the steroid family) to see if it helped any. Then she said – get this – if I didn’t hear from them in a couple weeks to make a follow up appointment. I laughed and said “Let’s make it now, then!” At least Lori had a sense of humor, unlike Miss Audiologistwithnofunnybones.

Long story short – I can’t hear. It may be reversible. It may not improve.

I miss listening to music, especially the music of my wife’s and daughter’s voices.

God is control, and He will not leave me nor forsake me. His plan for me is perfect, and I look forward to what He wants to teach me now.

And, for now, it appears that the question of hearing first or sanity first is moot.

I saw in the paper the other day that some employers, during the interview process, will ask the applicant for their login ID and password for their Facebook (or other social media site) account, so the potential employer could “screen” the type of activities that the potential employee engages in. Let me say this first: NEVER share your login ID and/or password with ANYONE. EVER.

This is justified by the businesses in question as necessary because they have to vet the applicant, and most applicants are smart enough to have the privacy on their Facebook account set to “Private” so only certain details can be seen by anyone outside their circle of friends. I understand their reasoning, but in no way do I think this is ethical (we’ll skip the legal ramifications, since I am not a lawyer).

However, I do see one way around this: Ask for a full disclosure of their financial accounts. Scaled, it’s the same thing. They don’t want to hire someone who acts irresponsibly, you don’t want to work for someone who is going to close shop and owe you a paycheck (been there, done that, didn’t even get a t-shirt). They are not going to open their books to you, so don’t open your “book” to them. They want to know you better? That’s what the references are for. And if you really need to know what their financial picture is like, do research on the company you are applying to – although you should already be doing that.

Bottom line: Don’t give out your login ID and Password to a potential employer – or anyone else. Keep looking, the company who asks you to compromise on personal security would also ask you to compromise your professional ethics.

I used to rely on Snopes.com a lot in my attempt to dispel certain myths, especially the ones surrounding taxes on the internet, charges for using facebook, etc. etc. etc. … That is, until I first saw this piece. I dug around a little bit on the links provided, and sonuvagun if it ain’t true. Well, the part about who represented Obama(THHO) in these petitions:

*Snopes, Soros and the Supreme Court’s Kagan*

*We-l-l-l-l now, I guess the time has come to check out Snopes!

Ya’ don’t suppose it might not be a good time to take a second look at some of the stuff that got kicked in the ditch by Snopes, do ya’? We’ve known that it was owned by a lefty couple but hadn’t known it to be financed by Soros!

*Snopes is heavily financed by George Soros; a big time supporter of Obama! In our Search for the truth department, we find what I have suspected on many occasions.

I went to Snopes to check something about the dockets of the new Supreme Court Justice, Elena Kagan who Obama appointed and Snopes said the email was false and there were no such dockets so I Googled the Supreme Court, typed in Obama-Kagan, and guess what? Yep you got it; Snopes Lied! Everyone of those dockets are there. So here is what I wrote to Snopes:

Referencing the article about Elena Kagan and Barack Obama dockets: The information you have posted stating that there were no such cases as claimed and the examples you gave are blatantly false.
I went directly to the Supreme Courts website, typed in Obama Kagan and immediately came up with all of the dockets that the article made reference to. I have long suspected that you really slant things but this was really shocking.

Thank You, I hope you will be much more truthful in the future, but I doubt it. That being said, I’ll bet you didn’t know this. Kagan was representing Obama in all the petitions to prove his citizenship.

Now she may help rule on them. Folks, this is really ugly. Chicago Politics; and the beat goes on and on and on. Once gain the US Senate sold us out! Now we know why Obama nominated Elana Kagan for the Supreme Court.

Pull up the Supreme Courts website, go to the docket and search for Obama. She was the Solicitor General for all the suits against him filed with the Supreme Court to show proof of natural born citizenship. He owed her big time. All of the requests were denied of course.
They were never heard. It just keeps getting deeper and deeper, doesn’t it? The American people mean nothing any longer. It’s all about payback time for those who compromised themselves to elect someone who really has no true right to even be there. Here are some websites of the Supreme Court Docket: You can look up some of these hearings and guess what? Elana Kagan is the attorney representing Obama! Check out these examples:

Maybe Attack Watch should just take over snopes.com … just sayin’.
