Slow Thought Process Day

July 25th, 2006 . by Cary

TODAY IN HISTORY

July 25, 1987:

Cary Cartter marries his first wife, which is rectified on April 4, 2000 when the divorce is final. The only high point(s) are the two beautiful girls he helps raise for twelve years, he manages to get sober and quit smoking with the grace of God, and he starts seeing life as it is.

In other news, Cary is now very happily married and expecting his first child in December.

God is good, and takes care of His own. Looks after them, so to speak. Allows them to make mistakes, but loves them anyway. The best model for parenting there could be. No matter how badly I screw up, He will always love me and accept me back.

Please contrast this belief system to the cult of islam, in which you will either conform or be killed. No do-overs, no second chances. Just be islamic or die.

Yes, the “i” in islam is lower case for a reason. This reason. (snappy salute to Gunz, who will be linked as soon as his new blog is up and running)

When are all the “moderate” muslims going to stand up and be counted? When is the violence perpetrated in the name of islam going to be renounced?

Compare that to what happens when a Christian steps out of line – immediate rebuttal, rebuking of the actions that are not in line with Christ’s teachings. Heck, even the little church in Kansas that “protests” the troop’s funerals is being told to cease and desist – and not just by the other churches, but by courts of law. I can’t wait to hear they are coming to Phoenix – I’ll protest their protest.

Sorry for the rambling today, just a bunch of thoughts tumbling around in my mind.

May God richly bless your life. May you find His peace and love in your life. May you know that He will love and accept you, no matter what your life has been up until now.

I was at Parris Island on this day in 1987…I got married to the Corps, what a love affair that was. 🙂

My issued M-16 was the sexiest thing this side of the Mississippi.
    I miss Her. 🙁

    Ebyjo is my world now.

Did I read that right? Expecting? Congrats brother.

Ah, yes – married to the Corps – best deal in the world. I do have to disagree with you, respectfully, my M16 was the sexiest thing from the Atlantic to the Pacific. My DIs told me so, and they never lie.

Yes, you read that right. I sometimes forget that not all of my readers (God bless them all, and may they continue to multiply) have been with me along this journey; she’s almost five months along. Keep your eyes on this spot for some exciting update info later this week…

Cary, you do know that the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)is representing that little church in Kansas?

  6. comment number 6 by: Cary

Gawfer – that’s sick. Sick, and twisted. Probably why I laughed so hard.

Rick and Kathy, I know the ACLU is defending that church. Do you know the ACLU was founded by a communist to enforce communist values on this country? Do you know that if I ever meet an ACLU puke – I mean, lawyer – face to face, the result will be 15-20? Do you know that instead of defending American Civil Liberties, the ACLU has managed to get legislation passed to take liberties away from you and me?

Do you know that deep down, it hurts me to know that I defended the ACLU’s right to sue me for defending their right to sue me?

THAT is sick. And I don’t mean sick ha ha – I mean sick see what I had for dinner two nights ago.

Surely that was a question with an inflection of sarcasm behind it about the ACLU. I hope.

You summed it up pretty well Cary. Bunch of commies is all that worthless organization is.

  8. comment number 8 by: Rick and Kathy

Yes there was a slight hint of sarcasm there. (sorry) In my opinion, with the ACLU stepping in it just muddies an issue that is already murky to begin with…..if you gotta take sides on this issue, where do you want to land? On the side of the church, with the ACLU, or on the side of the courts?

Well, as far as that church goes, I can’t stand behind it. I’m an Old Regular Baptist by default and all we have done is prayed and supported the military. I can’t stand with any church that goes against such things as what thay have pulled by protesting funerals. Guess they’d rather be holding church in a candle lit basement somewhere, because if not for the sacrifices of servicemen there would be no freedom of religion and would live in fear and persecution. I’ll side with God on this one, he’s in full control anyway. Semper Fi.

Hey…Cary, my father is a pastor. That church is right beside his house and built it, Said he was going to put an american Flag on a pole right in front of it! ROFLMBO! He’s a bit defiant to say the least. Wouldn’t want to mess there on the church and state issue…that association is absolutely huge and covers many states. I have no doubt he’s going to attempt it.

  11. comment number 11 by: Cary

Does he need help putting up the pole? Does he need a supply of flags? How about an armed Honor Gaurd? I’m pretty sure that as resourcesful as we are, we could take care of all those things.

Rick and Kathy – nothing to apologize about, I saw an opening to let out some of my repressed feelings, and I jumped on it!

Ooh-Rah! Semper Fi! Give me the liberties I’ve served for or give me death! (ht – Patrick Henry)

Congrats Cary on the baby coming to your household in December!! Do you know if it’s a boy or girl? Awesome that God is the God of a second chance. He just says “no problem”-hits the start over button and lets you take it from there. 🙂

Oh, and don’t even get me started on the ACLU.

  13. comment number 13 by: Cary

Thank you, Mary – we find out on Friday, July 28th (tomorrow as I write this).

    God is a wonderful God.

I won’t get you started, if you don’t get me started.

If you want to, you can.
Not that you have. Just letting ya know.
