Blogger Beta

October 19th, 2006 . by Cary

I’m trying, I really am, to figure out this “Beta” thingy going on. I’ve converted to Beta, and I have been working with my test blog (you didn’t think I was going to screw up my live blog, did you?) and I just can’t get some things to work – like the blogrolls. Without those, this becomes a very boring community, where nothing can be shared.

Any help?

God bless you all!

Sorry bro, that’s not my area of expertise by a long shot. I don’t mess with mine unless I have to, and I certainly wouldn’t try out a new version of blogger when the current one doesn’t even have all the bugs ironed out yet. Perhaps if I was a bit more HTML savvy I would.

I have heard other people having problems with the beta version cary.
I agree with jj. And I would not try any beta programs until all th bugs are worked out. This guy could not sign into his blogger account and had to reload a totally new blog.
    take care cary.

I have converted to the new Beta-Blogger and am too busy to figger out all the bells and whistles.

I did try to change my template and had to go back to the old one. When I updated it ALL my stuff on the side disappeared and I would have had to go through my old template (Which I saved in a folder on my own hard drive.) and transfer everything piecemeal.

Who has time for that? – I hardly have time to post much less visit my friends anymore.

I’ve noticed too that using their spell chucker can cause paragraphs to go all funny. Now I just simply proof read and then hit publish…

Blogger has enough problems just by it’s self. I wouldn’t go to beta until they push me over there.

Which will be anytime soon, because they’re GOOGLE now, and GOOGLE is here to do your thinking for you.

That’s what I was afriad of. I guess I’ll just leave my nasty little template alone, and since I’m already ported over to Blogger Beta, I’ll just keep plugging along. Maybe I can figure out how to plug some of the goodies from the new one into the old one…

Do you know anything about HTML? If not email me and I can give a few diections but it will cost you some time to implement it. I’d suggest a Saturday when the wife is at a women’s retreat like mine will be next weekend.

P.S. One thing I dislike about the word verification is when you have to guess if the screwy lookin’ letter is a j or i or l or whatever. – Would not do without it though because spammers would love to set up their crap on past posts hoping you miss catching it.

And then when you guess wrong you get – zqfauydc – Much better!

I know what the letters stand for; I have figured out some of HTML but it appears that the beta has something XTML going on…

Drop me a line with a phone number; TMBWitW has class this Saturday AM, I can give you a call then and we can see what we can see.

I agree, I won’t do without the word verification. Although, I have one anonymous idiot who goes through the trouble of verifying the words…
