Nothing To Say

August 19th, 2010 . by Cary

Just wanted to let you know that I am not ignoring you, I just don’t feel free to talk about anything right now, since a certain legal entity is closely scrutinizing my blog.

With all due respect, Your Honor, I quote from my disclosure page, regarding Fair Use:

Fair Use: Electronic links, short blockquotes in online articles, or other electronic uses are not limited, however, I do ask for credit where my work is used. Printed versions of ANY of my posts must be accompanied by a pre-dated written express permission from me (or the author, in case a guest author creates a post) before a post or entry is printed out and used in any form.

In ANY form, Your Honor – not just for entertainment, but for any form. Including waving a copy of my own writing in my face while I am sitting on the witness stand. Violation of copyright, Your Honor. Your state prosecuting attorney has taken advantage of my intellectual property, without permission.

Not that you’ll ever see this entry, since it contains none of the key words that his “people” are “searching” “for”.

ps – anyone out there know any good copyright attorneys, willing to work on contingency?

Chat ya later…

Copyright? Cary, a word to the wise is sufficient they say, so, copyright violation is a slippery slope for ALL bloggers..

Are you sure that’s the way you want to go?

I’m not sure I understand all I know about this, but whatever its history, I hope you come out on top…safely.

The items in question were my creation in their entirety; all I asked was for prior written permission before releasing them in written form. Electronic form? Heck, link away – just give credit where credit is due – that’s all I ask, and it is what you and every other blogger asks. But we are referring to printed version – other bloggers have, in fact, published their blogs, and have been paid handsomely for it. I’m not looking for book royalties, I just want to make sure that written versions of my work are identified as such and I want to know where they are going and what they are doing.

Joe – prayers are appreciated more than anything.
