The Silence of a Saturday
January 22nd, 2011 . by CaryThe household is still asleep, except for the cats (who seem to be awake when we are not, but that’s a story for another post) and I am standing on the driveway, holding the morning paper in my hand. I glance at the front lawn, decide that tomorrow is, indeed, the day that I need to rake up the detritus of winter, when I hear an insistent honking. I look up, for it is not a mechanical sound, but a natural one. As the lone goose nears and passes overhead, the pitch changes, dropping slightly as the Doppler effect is demonstrated, then the honking fades slower as he continues south.
Have a peaceful and productive Saturday, my friends.
Chat ya later…
Thank you for stopping by, In GOD We Trust, God bless you all, don’t buy or breed cats or dogs while homeless pets die (spay, neuter & adopt a pet, one by one, until there are none), Wear Red on Fridays, and support Warriors for Innocence!
Saturday was especially good. 39 years ago, at a little after 6:00 AM the delivery room nurse held up my daughter for me to see. As an only child, she could sometimes be difficult, as perhaps only an only child can be, but she was a delight to raise. I have been truly blessed by a wonderful child.
Well, Happy Birthday to the little Roper! Our little one is an only child also, (so far!) and we are watching her grow with amazement that God entrusted this beautiful little creature to our care.
Thanks for stopping by, GM!
