Weird

September 29th, 2005 . by Cary

Kinda disturbing, really.

That’s about the only way to describe it.

I have an ex-wife. She, apparently, Googled me. She was shown the links to this and my other blog, and she clicked around a bunch – not really landing anywhere, just skimming a few articles here and there – and, naturally, not leaving any comments anywhere.

How do I know it was her? Well, the surfing happened from a place and at a time when she is scheduled to be at that place with a unique electronic footprint. Actually, the name of the place she was on a computer was plastered all over the stacounter reports. (In case you are reading this, former wife of mine, it has the name of the church on it. You were sitting in the bookstore, bored because the phone wasn’t ringing, weren’t you?) The stats from here also showed me how the people who had recently looked at my blogs got there. In her case, it was first from Google, and then she jumped around from page to page and blog to blog. She spent about ten minutes poking around on this site, then spent over an hour on the other blog.

You see what I mean by disturbing? Would that be disturbing to you? Or is it normal behavior? I would like to hear some feedback on this one. I’m pretty sure you know where I stand on this one.

That is freaky, I take it you don’t have any contact with her?

Well, I try not to. Even if I am attending an event for her daughters, I try to see the girls away from her, and I pretend to not see here while walking around.

She sounds like she is trying to find out information about you, maybe to use against you or just to find out your relationship status etc. Some people have trouble letting go of past relationships. She may still feel something for you. Or she could be stalking you. The answer will be in the state of your relationship with her at the moment.

    Thanks for stopping by.

The state of the relationship is we are divorced. Have been since 4/2000. She is remarried, I have remarried, so her tracking me is just spooky.

Spooky, but sometimes people just like to hear how those in their past are doing.

Thanks for stopping by. I understand about that, I mean, who hasn’t wondered about people from your past? But to be able to track someone tracking you… runs shivers down my spine. Unsettling at best.

Hi this is your ex-wife. I am not “stalking you” seeing that you tend to be a bit paranoid about someone googling your name is quite humorous. Twas not me I left TVC in June 2005. I’ve check this blog several times as others have mentioned that you have a knack for writing about me in a negative manner. Truth is I could care less about what you write related to me but I do care if you write about the girls.

Thank you for stopping by. I never mentioned “stalking” – another commenter did, and I certainly didn’t endorse that statement.

Please tell me where I have written negativly about you – I have done my level best to not mention you, except in passing, and I certainly never said anything negative about you.

You may want to check your sources (which, by the way, is something I tell anyone who posts something that may not be completely supported by the facts).

Anonymous – drop me an e-mail – I’d like to chat, if you are interested. With the timing, you may well be the off-spring of someone I went to school with.
