Possible Good News

It’s kind of hard to concentrate on anything right now; TMBWitW may be pregnant…

Waiting, waiting…

Quick Update

April 23rd, 2006 . by Cary

Still very busy. Still looking forward to the changes in the air.

I’ve added a button in the sidebar, please put it on your website and let everyone you know about it’s availability. Holding our representatives accountable is our RIGHT, our RESPONSIBILITY, and our CONSTITUTIONAL DUTY.

Blogmad hiccuped, my stats were reset after weeks of working up to the “Senior” level, I am back to a lowly Newbie. Darn, I have to go surf blogs for a while…

Busy, Busy, Busy.

April 17th, 2006 . by Cary

This last weekend being Easter weekend, I needed more time in the day to accomplish everything I wanted/needed to. On the other hand, the music sounded terrific in church (we even had a visitor compliment our six voice “choir” on how good we sounded), the new security door on B&B’s house looks terrific, and the cat room is clean.

I will be busier than ever for the next two weeks, so if I don’t update that’s why. I am transistioning my employment to a new opportunity – I will be working from home, with very flexible hours – so I will be working on setting up a home office in the train room.

While I have enjoyed working here, I am looking forward to moving on to another position, where the pay is higher, the benefits are a bit better, and did I mention I would be working from home? No, not stuffing envelopes – I’ll be designing kitchens and ordering the cabinets for the field crew to install.

Grassfire Petition

Special Petition Alert from Grassfire.org Alliance

Following 9/11, the U.S. committed to winning the war on terror. But here in the U.S., porous borders, increased crime and violence from record number of illegals crossing into the U.S. have citizens fearing for their safety, and demanding action in securing our borders.

How serious is the problem?

Estimates put the illegal population as high as 10-13 million, with more crossing each and every day–taxing our legal system, our hospitals, spiking crime rates and stealing critically needed benefits:

++ In 2004, 1.15 million illegals were apprehended. That is more than 3,100 every day, and a 24 percent increase over 2003.

++ Of the 1.15 million, 23,000 had criminal records. 84 were murder suspects, 37 were suspected kidnappers, 151 were wanted on sexual assault charges, 313 were robbery suspects, and nearly 2,700 were implicated on drug-related charges.

++ In 2004, Border Agents made 8,577 drug seizures and confiscated 1.4 million pounds of illegal narcotics with an estimated street value of $1.62 billion.

(Taken from a Washington Times Report).

Given these kinds of statistics, and the serious threat to our national security, it is time to put the “illegal” back into illegal immigration, and Secure Our Borders!

+ + 225,000 Citizen Petitions Needed

Grassfire is urging citizens from across the nation to take immediate action with us by signing our petition to “Secure Our Borders”:

Grassfire Petition

This issue poses a very real threat to every man, woman and child living in our nation, and demands attention. That’s why Grassfire wants to rally 225,000 citizen responses to present them to key lawmakers–demanding they make the issue of illegal immigration a NUMBER ONE PRIORITY this year.

Unless strong, decisive action is taken, the flow of illegals into our nation will only increase–further threatening our national security.

Thanks for taking action with us.

Grassfire.org Alliance

P.S. Recently, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), and Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) introduced comprehensive legislation targeting illegal immigration. Called The Comprehensive Enforcement and Immigration Reform Act of 2005 (S. 1438), it dramatically strengthens enforcement and reforms immigration laws.

Grassfire will be presenting hundreds of thousands of grassroots petitions supporting S. 1438. We are urging ALL citizens who want tighter border security to support this legislation by adding their names to our petition:

Grassfire Petition

After signing this petition, please alert your friends, family, and co-workers, letting them know that Grassfire is standing up for secure borders and a secure nation!

Thanks for your help.

Illegals On Parade

April 10th, 2006 . by Cary

Two things I would like to point out today.

1. With the planned “Illegals on Parade” march here in Phoenix set for later today, the traffic this morning was very light. Could the organizers of this event please plan more of these? Like, every day? My commute didn’t have any jerks, cutoffs, or late lane changers. Might make me enjoy driving again.

2. With the planned “Illegals on Parade” march here in Phoenix set for later today, why doesn’t the ICE take this opportunity to do some profiling? My guess is that if word got out that all marchers would be checked for legality, the numbers would drop from “100,000” to more like “3,000” real quick. Plus, it would be a head start on deporting the illegal immigrants that needs to happen.

Oh, wait – that would ruin the traffic patterns again. On the other hand, I could get back to my “Driving Me Crazy” series…
